Couple days ago was writing huge copious amounts (7300 word days, stuff like that) and said god how she wished she knew she could turn that on, since there were a hell of a lot of days where a thousand words was like pulling teeth. And right now I’m sitting here at Nook listening to Bon Jovi and not starting words on HoCH, which is the project du jour. I literally stopped mid-sentence yesterday. I have a pretty good idea of how the sentence ends. But I’ve been dicking around…
daily grind
In another day, my ytd wordcount will move from pathetic small numbers into starting-to-be-respectable numbers. If I manage to keep this up until next Friday, as the challenge dictates, I’ll…be real surprised. :) Must practice my DVORAK keyboarding. I’ve been actively trying to stay away from the computer when I’m not writing, because I’m spending 5-6 hours keyboarding right now to accomplish my 5K, and it is Good For Me to do *anything* else. Consequently, when I am online, I’m chatting a fair bit, and it’s harder to practice typing…

Yesterday Mom made a comment about my copious free time, which I’m always bemoaning a lack of. Truth is, though, I have plenty of free time. What I don’t especially have is discipline in what I do in that free time. As I said to Mom, I use up most of my discipline writing. That said, Maria Snyder just mentioned in her newsletter the non-residency university she got a Masters in writing popular fiction at, and it reminded me (yet again) how much I would like to get an MFA…

20 page challenge
Tomorrow begins my two week 20 page challenge, wherein the goal is to write 20 pages a day, not 20 pages in 2 weeks. :) I’ll be keeping tabs on it at , where anyone else participating in the 2 week challenge is also welcome to post.
