Ted and I watched the last episodes of season 1 Dr. Who yesterday evening. is a goddamned miracle worker. The DNS had been overwritten in my network protocols, so it was searching for a specific dns instead of finding them automatically. Wow, what a *bitch*. It’s a stupidly easy fix if you know what the problem is, but wow, what a bitch! YAY EVESHKA!

– hosts file not corrupted. will help me look through further things later, when we catch up with one another again – MS malevolent software thing run. found nothing. – spybot S&D found nothing – dns flush had no effect – not going through a proxy to reach teh intarwebs, so that’s not the problem – followed ‘s suggestion for crapcleaner -> avast -> spybot to no avail – have not yet tried Hijack This – currently running ad-aware ad-ware didn’t fix it – have a log file from /…
virus, or something
I’ve got a virus, or something. Any co.uk site I go to redirects me to a junk site. I’ve run a Norton virus scan and cleared my cache, neither of which has helped. I switched off some things in msconfig, which also didn’t help. I’m running search-and-destroy spyware software right now, but does anybody have any ideas on what bug I might be suffering from here? I have sent my editor into a shrieking fit. If this is not success as a writer, I don’t know what is. :) For the proposal for the next 3 Walker Papers, I sent the final chapter of the 6th book, which I wrote a couple of years ago in a fit of The Idea Has Struck Me And If I Do Not Write It Down Now I Will Lose It Forever. So I wrote it down, and added it to the proposal. My editor just said: OH. MY. GOD!!!!…
