Tomorrow is our anniversary. I decided since I didn’t want to stop revisions for anniversary things, or for going to the Bon Jovi concert Saturday, it was clear I should just wait til Monday to start the frakking things. So I’ve been working on the fourth Chance script and introducing to Fairport Convention’s music. (Hm. , you might like Fairport Convention, too!) I got about five pages written, and I donno how I’m doing the next transition, so I’m done for the day. Ted is a hero of the revolution,…
inker!
Got an inker. It’s the second guy I talked with, who had a project fall out of the loop and who came back to me, to my absolute delight. He’s very good, much better than the other people who’d come to me, and he’s not only good, he appreciated that my penciler is fucking brilliant and that his inks are only going to punch the pages up *just* that little bit more. He’s said three times that the pages barely need inks, and what he showed me on one panel…
no use
Well, I don’t think it was any use for research, but Katie MacAlister’s BLOW ME DOWN was a cute read and should probably read it, because I don’t even play PuzzlePirates and I was about 17 pages in when I went, “Hey, this book is totally based on PuzzlePirates!” All right. I’m going to read the Showalter book, and then that’s enough in the way of excuses. Revisions start tomorrow.
stuff

There are some (generally minor) issues with it, particularly with IE, and I need to go through the quotes so I’m not spilling over on multi-lined ones, but it’s a nice sleek 3 column layout now, and anybody who at one time had trouble with the navigational drop-downs should no longer have problems. I thought the dropdowns were very sexy, but oh well. The fluid 3 column thing…
comic stuff
I found myself an inker for Chance, if I can afford him. He’s doing a test page and I’ll pay him as much as I can bloody afford, because he’s a *very* good inker. This is definitely a problem with doing a comic book out of pocket and having a Certain Expectation as to the level of quality I want to produce. @.@ Fuck. Can’t afford him. Can’t afford him in a big way. $60/p. Fuck. I’m not paying my *artist* that much. Damn. Damn damn damn. Well, at least…
