quick post before bed

Good weekend. Got the heavy lifting done on the RAVEN CALLS revisions. Got ten more chapters to go through and then I have to go back and fix a language inconsistency and then they should be done. Hopefully will finish up tomorrow morning & get it turned in before opening of business East Coast time. Woot.

Thursday last I went to see Gilda at the IFI. Sadly it was sold out, so I walked across the river and went to Horrible Bosses instead. It was really pretty funny, if not exactly something that stays with you for the ages. I’d mostly forgotten everything about it by the time I got home. Still, it was funny. :)

Today Ted and I went to see Captain America, which we liked quite a lot. In fact, my only real objection was kind of that it wasn’t long enough. Not enough Cappy fighting baddies, too much sense of him only going up against Hydra instead of being out there kicking general Nazi ass. But politically and film-structurally that was probably the right choice, and we liked it. And, of course, if you haven’t seen it, stay through the credits. :)

I’m re-reading THE LONG RUN. I remember this book much more clearly than EMERALD EYES. It’s still keeping me up too late reading, which suggests it’s pretty much as good as I remember, rather than time and distance giving it a nostalgic glow. This delights me. :)

Ted got an Asus tablet PC this weekend. I have fierce computer envy. It’s so *shiny*! And I cannot talk myself into a smartphone which costs the same as the tablet, because I cannot convince myself I have that much use for a smartphone, not at that price tag. So I have no shiny electronic gadget of my own to alleviate the computer envy, but that really doesn’t matter, because mostly I’m just happy at how pleased Himself is with the new PC. So yay. :)

And now, bed. :)
