I had been admiring, the last few days, how very few spam messages I’d been getting. I thought maybe somebody’d been arrested or something, one of the major spam kings. I’d been going to comment on it, and then I thought no, nevermind, I wouldn’t do that, because it seemed like every time I did it in the past, I suddenly got a huge flood of spam.
I’ve gotten over a thousand spams to my gmail account since I thought about that this morning, about six hours ago.
*headdesk*
At least they go to the spam folder, right?
Wow – I’m not going to say a word about my account or even THINK about my account
And I suggest that’s the last time you do too!!
*G* Yup, you thought too loud. But it’s not personal, I also got new and more creative spam in the last 24h.
I hate that people are actually stupid enough to believe spam and thus make it profitable.
Most of them. The auto filter has missed about 40 or 50.
turns out No one has to believe the spam for the spammers to get paid – you just have to go look at the site – even to unsubscribe – and they get a ‘visted’ count and get paid.
BTW – I’ve been reading Immortal Beloved as my lunchtime “book” at work.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the Highlander movies (well, beyond the first) or the TV show, but I am loving this story!!! I adore when a writer can give me a different look at something that didn’t work for me in its original incarnation!!!!
Oh, yay! I love that book, honestly. :) I have two more Methos novels I’d like to write someday, but unless I get so popular I can write tie-ins for a series years off the air and they’ll sell because they say CE Murphy on the front, I’m not sure I’ll ever actually get around to it… :)
Now you KNOW not to mention ANYTHING about the big piggy loaf.
Dude, the power of your mind? It is an awesome thing. ::g::
Perhaps you might admire and think thinky thoughts that *wow*, I haven’t seen chickwriter around. Wonder if her manuscript is done.
::chickwriter grumbles and returns to the work::
We learned yesterday that, where I work (roughly 3000 employees), our filters determined that of about 3,000,000 incoming email messages last month, 26,000 of them were legit email. Which means that there’s a whole lot of spam out there.
So you’re not alone.
