I don’t think I’ve felt this generally pleased to face the day in months.
It’s not that I don’t still have a lot to do. In fact, I have enormous overwhelming amounts to do, including but not limited to, and more or less in order:
– fix any NOTES in HoF, spellcheck, and submit it
– do THE QUEEN’S BASTARD proofs
– buy Christmas/greeting cards so I can
– send out about 1 zillion books I’ve been promising people since, like, September
– finish revising THE PRETENDER’S CROWN proposal
– write Chance #5 & #6
– Christmas shop
– birthday shop for the nephews
– get Christmas & birthday presents in the mail
– put up the Christmas tree
– write THE PRETENDER’S CROWN (due Feb 1. Hah.)
But damned if I don’t feel light and fluffy right now.
Apparently my reward for all that hard work was staying up too late to work on a new website design. Still, today I am light and fluffy and happy to face the day, and I will take it.
woohoo! Fancy a hot chocolate in the park cafe later? We’ll be there after school today if it doesn’t piss rain.
“piss rain” is a new and interesting turn of phrase; hope you don’t mind if I steal it.
– write THE PRETENDER’S CROWN (due Feb 1. Hah.)
Write a book from scratch in two months? ::shiver::
I’ve rewritten in two months–month and a half, in one case–but starting cold would terrify me.
I have not the remotest claim to having invented that one so feel free to adopt as you wish. Welcome to the world of colourful Irish phrasing – forty shades of green means forty+ words for rain.
Dunno about catie but I do- only problem is I am at work and can’t make it.. :-(
yeah – i have to do the christmas card thing still…
*yawn*
I slacked off yesterday, and instead of writing, finished off Urban Shaman. Yum!
Of course, now I’m going to blame you for my lack of sleep :)
