Still not doing it…

I’m still not running any, but boy, I sure can think of a lot of Kickstarters that would be fun to do. :) No: there are other projects that need finishing first. But even so. :) Speaking of them, though, Judith Tarr’s second Kickstarter is in its last week, and is mere dollars away from the next goal. I have great hopes of a last-days surge putting it up to $10K, which would be SO COOL. Go go Kickstarting Judy! And while I’m admiring Judy, she’s written a terrific article,…

ElectriCity

Author Kait Nolan wrote a blog about Kickstarters and platforms (featuring me!), which caused me to go have a look at the most successful fiction Kickstarters. NO DOMINION’s still in the top 15, which surprised and delighted me. DINOPOCALYPSE NOW, which I’ll be writing a book for next month, is still in the top 5. Let’s see.

I feel like I should be blogging on big important topics and having meaningful conversations, as many of my friends are doing. those people are MAKING ART!

Yesterday morning as I was working in Starbucks, I noticed a woman introducing herself to a man who’d just arrived, primarily because she used the immortal and ear-catching words, “I’m the writer.” I spent the next hour or so alternating between writing and evesdropping as three more men showed up and were introduced. Someone took out a laptop and showed a video. Great delight was expressed. Enthusiasm grew. The project was discussed. A crowdfunding project was in the works. I was sitting there twitching and going “THOSE PEOPLE ARE OVER…

almost done…

I’ve got one more short story to deliver for the NO DOMINION patrons, and then a small handful of other things (the limited edition print run, the calendar, and *bemused* a performance of “Wind Beneath My Wings”) to wrap up. Now that I’m reaching the end of this project, the crazy part of me is looking back on this and thinking “It has been SO! MUCH! FUN! Let’s DO ANOTHER ONE!” In, you know. My copious free time. :) But it really has been a lot of fun, and I’d…
