Picoreview: The Boss puts on a good show. Even if I knew exactly four songs, all hits from the 80s, I’m damned glad we went to the Springsteen concert. It was fun, he was great, he lifted a 7 year old kid up onto the stage to sing with him, and it is my recollection that in the 80s, aside from a moderate musical talent, he was also known for really being able to fill out a pair of jeans. Dude’s 62 and can still shake that thang. Dayum. (Halfway…

funny husband :)
Last night we went over to my Mom and Dad’s so Ted could mow their lawn, an activity which Dad supervised/kept him company during, depending, I suppose, on how you want to interpret it. :) Anyway, when he was nearly done, Ted said, “So, Mr. Murphy, I was wondering if it would be okay if I dated your daughter…” *laughs right out loud* Dad said he’d think about it and let Ted know after he mowed the lawn next week. *laughs more* But then after Ted carried out three bags…
picoreview: Snow White & the Huntsman
Picoreview: Too long by at least half an hour, but to my astonishment, Kristen Stewart was quite good in it. She emoted! And Chris Hemsworth is dreamy. And Charlize Theron is…well, you know. Charlize Theron. Raar. My advice: don’t see it when you’re already sleepy.
Pride & Prejudice
Having now re-read the book and re-watched both the BBC miniseries and the Kiera Knightley film, I must say… …both productions really did a stupendous job of adapting the novel. Differently, obviously, because the BBC had 6 hours and the film 2, but really, I think they both did really, really well. Huge amounts of side-story were cut for the film, but the basic story came through intact, and I liked Knightley’s Elizabeth as much as I liked Ehle’s. And I’m *awfully* fond of Matthew Macfayden (if Panzer & Davis…
my boring life
Apparently my life is sufficently boring that I can’t think of anything to blog about. I have to draw winners for the BYD contest, but since I already blew my first deadline on that and there’s a long weekend coming up in America, I think I’ll wait until next week. In the meantime, random things: I believe this is very much the sort of thing the phrase “Oh, snap!” was invented for: Back to back questions presented to Robert Downey Jr and Scarlett Johansson. *laughs* My wallet died, so I…
