YEAR OF MIRACLES!

We’re going on holiday tomorrow. I’m declaring it an Internet Fast, at least to the best of my ability to do so when I still have actual access to the internet, so I’ve jumped the gun and have published YEAR OF MIRACLES on Amazon et all so I don’t have to do it while on vacation. Revisit the world of the Old Races and discover the pieces that set the Negotiator Trilogy into play… Four hundred years ago, master vampire Eliseo Daisani and dragonlord Janx both fell in love with…

Baba Yaga’s Daughter!

eee eee eee YAY SQUEE yesterday Subterranean Press said the BABA YAGA’S DAUGHTER advanced reader copies were shipping! You’ve pre-ordered your copy, right? ’cause it’s going to be SUPER PRETTY and, er, well, I rather like the stories in it too. novella, my hiney

I closed out the NO DOMINION rough draft a couple hours ago, at 60,438 words. Novella, my hiney. It’s exactly twice the length I anticipated it being, and will without a doubt get longer in revisions. Which I am not going to do right now. I may very well even send it in the wreck-of-a-state that it is in, off to the Major Beta Reader for the project, rather than even do my usual revision pass which at least includes getting rid of the notes to myself and trying to…

Is there a doctor in the house?

Yesterday my brother in law defended the thesis he’s been working on for four years, and recieved his doctorate. There was a champagne party last night, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen my sister or her husband so ebulliant. Apparently his external examiner came in, sat down, said, “This is obviously a novel work, it is obviously worthy of a doctorate, now let’s discuss it. Page one!” and grilled Gavin for five and a half hours, a record for DCU doctorate defenses. Anyway, so we’re all completely thrilled and…
