thinks & stuff

thinks to do this afternoon and evening:

– WFC hotel
– WFC *registration*, for that matter
– ComicCon hotel
put down a deposit for dance class
– see if I can’t find a yoga and/or pilates class or two
– hie myself out of the house to go listen to trad music tonight
– organize some art projects so I don’t have to think about it and can just sit down to draw of an evening
– call about the cooker *sigh*

I also want to see if I can find some kind of cat bed with a built-in warmer, or in which I can put a small electric blanket, because this house gets pretty cold at night, which is fine for me sleeping, but which the cats, understandably, do not like at all, so they want to sleep with us. A double bed is barely big enough for Ted and me, much less Ted, me, and two cats, so maybe if I can create a *nice warm cavelike* sleeping space for the cats they’ll leave us alone. And no, they can’t be locked out of the room, because the door doesn’t latch, so they just shove it open when they want to come in.

I’m tired this morning, and not very enthusiastic about writing. OTOH, I’m already halfway done with chapter 11 due to having a good day yesterday, so I suppose I might as well go finish it, at least. (Plus I always figure if I make it through chapter 11 I’ll survive the book, which amuses me a lot even if it makes no sense to anybody else. It should, though. Think about it. :))

  1. Yeah, that looks just about perfect, but I’d need one big enough for two cats (they’re inclined to sleep together) and with a UK plug. I’ll have to look. Thanks. :)

  2. Incidentally, myself and have a quad room at the Courtyard Mariott, with no roommates at this time. Don’t suppose you’d be interested?

  3. Meanie. Sleeping with people is much more fun than just being warm. Get yourself an electric blanket, and donate Ted to the cats…

  4. I think I can safely say that if you had a Ted in your bed, you, too, would be more inclined to abandon the cats and sleep with the Ted. :)

  5. Ted’s coming too, so I think we’ll just get a room of our own. But thank you for the offer! :)

-Wasn’t I going to do the first with you? In which case should I tear over there to put my name down too?

-I have a friend in Cork who teaches Yoga – I can find out if she has classes going on anywhere near you

  7. Did you ever write an update about the last con, or did I just miss it? I’m curious since it’s close(ish) to our neck of the woods…

You were! I’m just dropping a 20 euro deposit through the mail slot, basically–there’s no sign-up time going on or anything. I thought I’d try to get into the 8pm Tuesdays ballet class.

And yeah, cool. Find out where she teaches!

  9. David would be able to help ya find one. He’s awesome like that. Just tell him Wolf from Uo sent ya.}:P

  10. So you’re really coming to ComiCon? Yay! I should steal you away for a few hours and bring you home to meet Hana and Shoka-cat. :)

  11. Yes, they make electric baskets for cats and small dogs. Ours has a washable fake sheepskin cover, but I still line the basket with a towel, because cat hair becomes felt when ground in enough, uggh.

It holds two 8-12 pound Burmese. The heating pad in the bottom is always on at around 96 degrees F. So you set a cat in it, and wait until their pads say “Oooo!” Then it will warm to blood temp because of pressure in the basket.

See my icon. Costs $70 when I got it, and they adore it. Even in summer — the A/C is cold for them.
