I read Jim’s PRINCEPS’ FURY over the weekend. It is true I’m turning into a terrible sop, but it made me cry. Well done, Jim. Also, want the last book NOW!!!

Been working on “Hot Time” today, which has mostly meant reading and cutting rather than writing scads. At somewhere north of 10,000 words, it is not at all finished, and still visibly flawed, but I’m beginning to think maybe I’ve got a story here. This rather relieves me (and probably surprises no one else, but that’s the nature of a writer). I’d like to finish it this week. I’m not sure I think I /will/, but I’d like to. Particularly given the following:

There’s notification at Scooper Speaks that RUNNING WITH THE PACK, a werewolf anthology featuring stories by myself and fellow Luna author Laura Anne Gilman, as well as many others, will be out in June 2010. (Coincidentally, that’s the same time DEMON HUNTS, book five of the Walker Papers will be out! You’ll be able to buy them both at once!) This was a great and interesting surprise to Laura Anne and myself, who both went ‘gosh, we better write those stories then, huh?’ :) And I’ve got a Janx short story to write for another anthology, too, so it’d be good to finish “Hot Time” sooner rather than later.

And in further anthology news, THE PHANTOM QUEEN AWAKES has been delayed, and will now be out in December 2009 instead of October.

Alethea Kontis gave us a lovely review of A FANTASY MEDLEY. Of course, this is sort of rubbing noses in it for people who don’t have a copy, since it was pretty much sold out by the time it shipped, but perhaps mentioning it will send droves of people to Subterranean Press to demand reprints. :)

Somehow it’s more than halfway through August already. I still have huge whacking amounts of things to do in August, and can hardly imagine how they’re all going to get done. (Possibly by blogging less and writing more? Naaaah…)

  1. You know… I must say I think you do write more and blog less than other writers… or at least the other ones I have started to pay attention to read blogs of.

In fact, one spends so much time blogging and answering forums and tweaking the website.. that I wonder that anything gets written at all.

Not saying that’s a bad thing, just perhaps I shouldn’t base most writers on you. :P
