I am tired of all the news in the news that is bad. Today would be a nice day for people to tell me something good that’s happened to them lately.

  1. Hi, we met at the SCWW conference in October. Sorry to hear you’re feeling blue – let’s see if I have something to cheer you up.

hmm, something good… I have a new idea to fix the opening of my novel, I just got glasses and everything looks wonky in an interesting way, and I got money for Christmas and work for the New Year, which means I can slow the downward spiral of my finances… all much better than I’d hoped for already. And I’m going to buy Take a Chance as soon as I can get to a comic book store.

And here’s a story for you:

My little boy, who turned 3 in October, emptied out a laundry basket of sorted socks, lined the socks up end to end across the living room floor, and then climbed in the basket and said, “Ho ho ho! Look Mommy, I’m Santa! See my reindeer? I’m flying!”

P.S. Did you ever get a chance to ask that visualization scientist if everyone visualizes, what do blind people do?

He can’t be very good if he just tosses off “scientific” answers without doing a study with a relevant control group.

  2. My son is autistic. In spite of this, he fell off of something the other day, recovered himself, and stated matter-of-factly, “I meant to do that.” For my son, with the nature of his disorder, to still manage to have that level of aplomb and humor, should brighten anyone’s day.

PS My sister apparently really loved Heart of Stone. However, she needs to give it back because she read my copy before I did.
