Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

At PCon last weekend, , by way of a pamphlet she had from , recommended THE LIES OF LOCKE LAMORA, by Scott Lynch, to me. Ted had conveniently purchased it recently, so I read it over the last couple days, and it is in fact very good. I should’ve kept one of the pamphlets, to see what else they recommended!

Ted and I went to the St. Paddy’s Day parade in Cork again today. Now I feel properly like I’ve been in Ireland a year. :) We saw Military Kit again, and she looks enough like me from the front that we were able to say, “Is that–that’s her!” when she was approaching, but she doesn’t look as much like me from the front as she does in profile. Possibly if I lost 25 pounds, and she smiled, though…! She’s dyed her hair an unnatural shade of red. :) Anyway, all I managed to get was another totally out of focus profile shot of her, so I’m not posting it. Other pictures, however, are here.

  1. We’ll post the full list, on the Write Fantastic website (here) and in our LJ as well. Every title guaranteed to please. ‘Course, you could always try reading one of our own in the meantime… *g*

  2. I did check the Write Fantastic website to see if the list was there! I’m glad you’ll be putting it up. :)

And yes, the thought of reading some of the Fantastic’s books did occur to me, in fact. :)

  3. ..
If I’d known I’d have gone in to see the parade too. Well, maybe, that many people in a small space is so not my idea of fun. But you live near cork? (from carrigaline address…)

  4. We shall have to have coffee in town someday or in Cobh (I work at the roundabout at the top of the road coming off the island onto the dualcarraigeway! (there, no one who doesn´t know the place can identify that)

The golf club used to do a good lunch but I don´t know when they re open for business. Last time I called they were doing the place up!

  5. Wednesdays are good for me since I’m in Cork /anyway/, but probably if you work at the roundabout at the top of the road coming off the island onto the dualcarraigeway it’d be easier to have a weekend meetup instead of trying to arrange both of us getting somewhere on a weekday! Don’t you think?

  6. Had something long and clever written but my computer shutdown and I lost it. Will post contact details in post for you once I get computer stable!
