Hahah! Angie is so cool! She suggested Matsutake as a name for the dog (Shiitake having the obvious nickname problem), and I think Matsutake is perfect, ’cause the puppy is from the Mat-Su (Matanuska-Susitna) Valley! Hahah! Isn’t Angie *clever*? Ted, Ted, what do you think of Matsutake?
The matsutake mushroom: The North American Armillaria ponderosa or White Matsutake is one of the best edible mushrooms and has a distinctive spicey/piney aroma. Traditional with rice or in soup, but great with almost any dish or grilled.
This doesn’t mean we get to grill the dog, but I think it’s a perfect name! *beam*
Personally, I don’t care for it. Too many syllables. But then, it’s not my dog.
