I can’t be the only person who thinks the trailers for “This is 40” makes me think poking myself in the eye with a sharp needle would be more fun than watching it, can I? Because to me it looks like “This is the most exhausting frustrating tiring annoying parts of your life, played by people a lot thinner, prettier*, and richer than you are, just to make you feel like *extra* shit.”
Or maybe I’m just not the target demographic. Maybe I’m twenty years too young or twenty years too old, being, you know, forty. Or within a few months of it, anwyay. Perhaps it’s too close to home. I couldn’t watch “The Wonder Years” in high school for the same reason.
For some reason, although today got off to a late start, the afternoon is utterly dragging. I was done for the day about two hours ago, and it’s only 4pm.
We did meet up with a lady and little boy from baby group and go to the zoo, which was fun. The snow leopards were out and walking around, but it was 1. a grey day and 2. not a day I brought my telephoto lens with me, so I didn’t get any pictures. Mostly I took pictures of the boys running around being cuties. :) Probably it was the chill that’s making the afternoon seem so slow. I still haven’t fully warmed up. Sadly, a nap on the couch with a snuggly little boy, which would no doubt warm me, is not in the cards.
Maybe I’ll do some laundry so the dryer warms the house up some more. God, I hate Irish heating. :p
*actually I don’t think either of the stars are All That, but that’s not really the point.
