War has erupted among the five Old Races, and Margrit Knight is responsible for the death that caused it. Now New York City’s most unusual lawyer faces her toughest negotiation yet. And with her gargoyle lover, Alban, taken prisoner, Margrit’s only allies–a dragon bitter about his fall, a vampire determined to hold his standing at any cost and a mortal detective with no idea what he’s up against–have demands of their own.

Determined to rescue Alban and torn between conflicting loyalties as the battle seeps into the human world, Margrit soon realizes the only way out is through the fire….

Today is Release Day for HANDS OF FLAME, the third and final book in my Negotiator series! A bunch of people have picked it up already, but it should be available all around by now. If you guys wanted to do the same thing you did with TQB, and send it back to print by the end of the month…that would be good. :)

My esteemed agent, /Jennifer Jackson, has a Nuts & Bolts interview up at Publishers Weekly, and talks about THE QUEEN’S BASTARD therein. (Thanks, Jenn!)

I’m tired of rain.

  1. Happy Release day!
My bookstore didn’t have Hands of Flames, at least not on the shelves. There was a lot of boxes beeing unpacked though….

I bought TQB today, and it is great :) It inspired me to dig deeper into my latest idea… Hopefully expanding it, somewhat
I know the tired of rain feeling. I used to live in the most rainy city in sweden…. Plus, it was the most boring city too…

  2. I picked up my copy on 20 Aug, and by the 27th we’d sold two more copies so I hope that bodes well for you.

Also, picking it up (I’d had it pre-ordered so long ago I almost forgot… only almost!) reminded me to order Winter Moon, too, so I got that yesterday. :)

  3. Ugg, I’m more than a little upset with amazon.ca. I pre-ordered a while ago and still no book. Then I go on the site and it still says pre-order, not order. So I go to amazon.com and they’re not pre-ordering…..

Yes, I blame Canada, so I’ll probably have two copies a month from now. Just as well, I’m sure I’ll drop one in the bath rub or something equally annoying.
