I did get the whole manuscript marked up yesterday, which is one definition of “done”. Unfortunately, despite spending about four hours at it, I only got sixty pages of alterations typed into a file to send off to production. I know it gets a little bit less bad somewhere past the 150 page mark (due, I hope, to the ms actually being cleaner rather than me ceasing to care), but it’s looking like I’ll spend pretty much all day at the computer putting these in. And worst of all, it’s…

good mood!
I’m in an exceedingly good mood this morning. No idea why. Maybe I’m back on track in an Irish time zone. Maybe it’s because I had chocolate chip cookies and a glass of milk for breakfast. Maybe I’m just amused at Ted, who I told I would make get up at 10am if he did not come to bed before 4am, which is when he went to bed Monday night. I got up at about half three to use the bathroom and he was not yet in bed, but by…
mrgh?
I think I am not fully back on Irish time. I mean, I know copy edits are boring, but I don’t usually actually fall asleep doing them. I especially don’t usually fall asleep for two hours. I’m seriously going “o.O *blinkblinkblink* mngngngh?” right now. Jaysus, as Seirid has learned to say. Of course, I did get up at a quarter to seven, which is earlier than usual even when I’m properly in my time zone… Friday wasn’t actually a con day (I think there might’ve been a charity quiz of…

The AAs aren’t going as quickly as I hoped. This is partly because I got very little indeed done yesterday, but equally as much because it’s like (well, actually, it’s exactly like, as this is precisely what’s happening) now that all the damned copy edit scribbles are out of the way I can now see other problems that I physically couldn’t before. This stage isn’t nearly as bad as the CEs were, but it’s a lot worse than AAs usually are. My editor has sworn to my agent that I…
O. M. G!
We are home, home, *actually* home. The heat has gone out but I don’t care, we’re home and it is Good. We got in several hours ago and have been talking with Mom and Dad, who’ve cleaned the house, emptied our bedroom of extra beds, put the new quilt Ted’s mom made for us on our bed, slaughtered a third of the jungle in the back garden, fed our cats, put up new towel hangers in the bathroom, put a mat under my computer chair so it doesn’t roll downhill,…
