Today’s been one of those days that feels simultaneously very busy and not at all productive. I’ve done a lot of laundry. I made dinner. I placed a grocery order. I left the house for a bit. I wrote nine pages. I cleaned the kitty litter. I’m going to yoga in a while. I called about the cooker. I watched an episode of “Heroes”. what fresh hell…

I sat down today to start writing–facing, mind you, draft #5 of this book, which has not yet broken 300 pages–stared at the computer for about ten minutes, and got up and left again. Went downtown and bought a rather spiffy hardback blank book and two reasonably decent pens, and came home again to begin writing. I am going to write as much of this book as is necessary by hand, because I don’t seem to be able to sit down at the computer and not try to work in…

packaging

Since moving to Ireland and beginning recycling, which is What’s Done Here, Ted and I have discovered that we produce very little *garbage*. Once we get a composter going, we’ll produce almost *no* garbage. What we do produce, or have a lot of, is *packaging*. Most (all) of that’s recycleable, but it’s been starting to get on my nerves.
