I’m reading this here book, The Blazing Tree, which has a quote on its cover: “She writes like a dream.” I can say with a fair amount of certainty, having gotten a little more than halfway through the book, that what this actually means is, “It’ll put you right to sleep.” It’s not badly written. There are bits that are absolutely gorgeous. But I just can’t get very interested in it.

So I had a dream this morning that I was more or less single-handedly responsible for the last of the Antarctic ice cap melting.
