My BELOVED superhero game, City of Heroes, has been resurrected as City of Heroes: Homecoming after TWELVE YEARS! Officially licensed from the original creators, NCSoft, with five servers up and running!
I AM SO EXCITED I ACTUALLY KEEP TEARING UP, GUYS, I AM SO HAPPY!!! I loved this game!
For those of you who don’t know, it’s an original-world superhero game that launched in (apparently) 2004, and was hugely popular, but eventually shut down in large part, to the best of my recollection, because the owners/whoever owned the owners thought they could make more money by running a DC Comics based superhero game. They were wrong, but that’s kind of irrelevant at this point.
A few years ago it came out that there had been secret servers running the game ever since it shut down officially, and since then there have been a number of instances running here and there, BUT THIS IS OFFICIAL! THEY GOT PERMISSION! THEY GOT A LICENSE! AND I AM SO HAPPY!!!!
I’m on the Indomitable server as Petite, and hope to get a gaming group together in the next weeks here, for probably one day/night a week, because that would be AMAZING!!!!!!
