Via Boing Boing, a miracle fruit that alters your sense of taste so that sour things become sweet. Dood. I *want* one of these plants. The reason I don’t eat oranges is they’re too sour. If I could nibble a lil’ froot that would make them sweet I’d like them!
We have a room for PCon. Yay. Not on site, but a room, so all is well.
Rapid and enthusiastic discussions in comments have brought to light the point that the Irish are extremely random with their T’s and TH’s, and while I never would’ve thought of it, having had it pointed out to me, it’s clear that the “t” in “Catie” is getting switched to TH by people who do that kind of thing (the town name “Athy”, which is in theory pronounced aTHIGH, is often pronounced a’TIE, for example, and ‘Thurles’ is frequently pronounced ‘TUR-les’ or ‘TURrrls’), so people who are pronouncing my name Cathy are not really mispronouncing it, and are unlikely to get trained out of it. I’m going to start calling myself Kit. *squinty face*
I stopped playing my fire tanker a while ago because I couldn’t get a respec on her that made her any fun to play. Similarly, this afternoon I nearly got Petite, my 22nd level energy/invulnerability tanker, killed. In a fit of pique, I swam off into the middle of Striga Isle waters and respeced. Got rid of Invulnerability, because I’m learning that I really hate the extraneous shielding effects: they seem to mostly eat up endurance and not offer enough protection for the end cost. I replaced that slot with an extra pool power health slot and picked up health and stamina, or some combination like that, which allowed me to regenerate hit points and endurance faster. I don’t think I sacrificed any attacks to get that, either, and I’m using one power slot for teleport foe, which I’ve become very fond of.
This is SO MUCH MORE LIKE IT. The difference it made was noticeable. This discovery may allow me to get a character past 25th level, which 3 years of playing has not yet accomplished. Yay!
…that is all.
Stamina is the Best Power Ever. It makes builds work, and reduces downtime as a bonus! Yay for Stamina!
Ah, tanker fun. You should talk to my husband, the inveterate tanker. He got an invul/ss tanker to 60, but mostly because he only teamed with my emp/rad defender :)
My highest level fire tanker languishes at 10ish, I think. I tend to gravitate toward the defender or controller sets. Currently, I’m leveling an ice/ice controller through safeguard missions – it’s kinda fun. Well, I say currently – haven’t actually logged into CoX since Burning Crusade came out. Whoops…
Katya? Kitty?
No, I don’t think I need a “Don’t make you have to hurt me” icon. Why?
Bleugh!
(Tonight was two levels on my Shaman. Different game, but never mind.)
We’re not on site for PCon, either, nor is, or and either, so you’ll be far from the only one outside.
PCon: which hotel?
I have to book soon and I’m trying to figure out where ….
So from now on we’ll call you ‘Alice’?
If you want to avoid us, stay out of the Park Inn (formerly Chief O’Neill). *grin*
On the other hand, for a modern hotel, it’s quite nice – not at all generic Hilton/Holiday Inn/whatever from what we’ve seen.
We’re staying at a nearby self-catering place on Litton Lane (Litton Lane Apartments).
Hmm, cute.
We’ve got so wedded (I initially wrote ‘bedded’!) to the idea of hotels, we never thought of that.
