  1. The people of Numenor are Aragorn’s ancestors and the forerunners of the kings of Gondor and Arnor. So yeah, the folk of Minas Tirith are descended from them, too, to some degree. ^_^

Numenor was destroyed when it got too prideful, pretty much, but an offshoot branch of ’em founded the kingdoms of Gondor and Arnor, and when Isildur’s line fell apart they went off and became the Dunedain.

  2. Thank you, Anna and Kat. I am duly informed. :)

(I never made it through the Rings books, see.)

  3. Only the royal line is Numenorean I believe; most of the people are native of that part of the West.

  4. You’re probably right. It’s been awhile since I’ve read anything.

It’s like that whole a square is a rhombus thing.

  5. I think it was an unfair question. Beer is not just for Hobbits.

Reminds me of my favorite addition to the first movie: “It comes in pints?!”

Dammit. Now I must go fire up the DVD player.

  6. According to some source I read they’re the Tolkien-verse version of atlanteans. (Ancestral homeland swallowed by the sea, wise and long-lived survivors fleeing to more barbarian lands and leaving impressive ruins all over.) There was apparently som long punnish build-up of names to support the theory…
