I have written just a smidge under 40K in January, and when I say “just a smidge” I mean “100 words”. If I was feeling slightly more ambitious I’d probably write another hundred, except if I did that the chapter would be at about 1750 words and then I’d have to write it up to 2000. Ted and I got a pretty early start today, so we had a wander around the University Cork campus, which is lovely, before we went our separate ways, himself to game and myself to write. Today we toddled into Cork to see how it had changed since we’d been here. Lots and lots of new shopping centres which only have one store in them have been finished, the corner where a coconut flew out of nowhere to smack me in the head is now a whole different building, the back side of the museum has been tarted up, the Grand Parade walkway’s been finished–it all looks quite terrific. Fortunately, I had mentally scheduled today as a Day Of Other Things, rather than a Working Day. This is good, because it turned out to be entirely a day of other things and no working at all.
