Jerry did a couple of character sketches for me. The first one is probably my favorite single drawing anybody’s done of Chance. But after this I never heard from him again, so it didn’t go anywhere!

This one, somewhat alarmingly, borders on being not-work-safe. O.O Shelton Bryant is an astoundingly talented artist. I think his work is genuinely beautiful. I got very excited over the prospect of working with him (this was in 2003 or whatever, too), and then my eyes nearly fell out of my head when I got his first page proposal. It’s very… um. Yes. Um. Too sexy for my shirt, is what it is.

was actually the first person who did any work on Chance at all, in like 2003. When I got her first pages, I about fell out of my chair. It was the first time I’d ever seen anybody draw something I wrote, and I *still* think it’s cool beyond words. Ursula, however, has a career and a comic of her own, so it never went further than a few pages. Starting from the beginning (which means those readers coming in late will see this last, but nothing I can do about that except post everything backward which is far too much effort!), this is my own character sketch of Chance, which has gone out to all the artists you will see after this.
