There’s an aisle at the local grocery store that is advertised as having Ethnic Food in it. Traditionally it was Indian and Chinese, and more recently, Mexican. But this week they have added AMERICAN Ethnic Food! Kraft mac&cheese! Canned pumpkin! Pop Tarts! CHEETOS!! I have never been so happy (and dismayed) as to see Cheetos on the shelf. :) We’re up to FIVE seedlings now. One is barely a speck of green curl in the dirt, but it’s there! And we only have eight planted, so more than half have…

baklava!
O.M.G. I sent my friend Marc some fudge in December because, er, well, frankly, he made it easy by just posting his address on one of the pictures of fudge I’d posted, and it amused me, so, fudge. I just got the same container back in the mail, except now it was filled with Marc’s baklava. Let me explain this to you: Marc’s baklava is to regular baklava what my fudge is to regular fudge. Ted made ham and mushroom and cheese omelettes for dinner with another chunk of the ham. Today I have taken the remains of it and am…

Is it something people other places in America do or am I right in thinking of it is a European(British?) tradition? (I was making maple syrup for the pancakes, and…

I had no idea so many people felt so strongly about oranges! :) The other day somebody asked me, somewhere, how I knew how long a book would be. I rambled on about it on Magical Words today, so perhaps that’ll be of some interest to people. Only yesterday I was proclaiming proudly to Ted that I’d been out of the house almost every single day of the year, except two or three back in January. However, I have not been out today, and it’s pissing down rain, so I…
