There’s a maintained forest in Cobh, Marlogue (Marlow) Wood. Scattered throughout it are small ruins, houses that have been taken back by the wood. This is my favorite shot I took of one, a hearth that appears in remarkably good condition, given that everything around it has largely disappeared.

A few-second, maybe 10-second, exposure, taken while balancing the camera on top of a post because I didn’t have a tripod and was apparently bored with just snapping shots of passers-by. Mostly I like the color in this.

This one’s mostly for Ursula. :) Baby moorhen, and my recollection of taking the picture is that it involved practically lying down in the mud to get on the right level with the wee little creature. :)

St Coleman’s Cathedral overlooks Cobh in a most impressive manner. This is one of probably six or so pictures I’ve taken of it that I like quite a lot. So when my friend Emily came over, my friend Kate took us on a truly magnificent lecture tour of Kinsale and surrounds. I took roughly six billion pictures and have posted nearly none of them.
