    aheh. :)

    Funny that the “Is LJ dead?” post got lots of traffic. :)

    LJ and mizkit.com (which are pretty much interchangeable) are really still the heart of online communication for me. I use Twitter more than I like, but a great deal of it is announcing word wars and the like. Facebook has two aspects for me, one of which is the personal side, where I do almost nothing but share links and photos from other people. The other side is work, where I try to make an actual effort to be, y’know, like, interactive. I almost never remember to use G+ and when I do it’s simply reiterating something I’ve posted on FB/Twitter, or the very occasional blog posting. I never, ever read the stream there.

    CEMurphy.net gets virtually no interactive traffic, perhaps because I do such a lousy job of posting there regularly, but also possibly because the spam’s been so bad I’ve had to instigate too many measures that shut down potential conversations. And also probably because it needs a redesign to make it more user-friendly, but see “in my copious free time”. Whatever the reason, it’s unfortunate.

    I gather that for somebody in my position (ie, a writer), I should probably be hanging out on GoodReads. I don’t even have an account there, apparently. Oi. Another place to promote. :}

    In totally other news (she said, in what we call “burying the lead”), I’m thinking of doing a Nano in February. 50K in 29 days. Anybody up for it?

    B&N! Amazon! SubPress! Raven Calls!

    Holy beans, today is a bonanza of self-promotion! (Apparently the whole week is, actually, looking at what I’ve already posted…but anyway!)

    “Easy Pickings” is now available as a Kindle book AND as a Nook Book! I am VERY EXCITED about this. VERY excited. No, really, I am, because all my crowdfunding aside, this is my first foray into actual self-publishing beyond the scope of the crowdfunded projects, and I’m very, very interested and excited to see how it goes. So if you’ve read and enjoyed “Easy Pickings”, you should post a review there (and I never ever ask people to do that), and if you’ve got a Kindle or Nook, please do buy it through B&N or Amazon so it can get some legs in the “people who bought this also bought” recommendations. <3

    Up next: the RAVEN CALLS teaser has been posted! Just 2 more months til it comes out! Yay! Holy beans, book 7. Only TWO LEFT!

    And! And! SQUEE! BABA YAGA’S DAUGHTER is available for pre-order! It’ll be out in September, and I’m beside myself with excitement over the whole thing! Go pre-order your copy so SubPress will think I’m worthy of their time and energy!

    twitter, facebook, shameless self promotion…

    All right, while it would no doubt be easier to give away books, I’m going to write a couple of Walker Papers short stories (possibly *very* short stories) for Facebook fans/Twitter followers when they crest a certain number. For Facebook, that number is 250, which is only ten or eleven people away. (The story may get substantially longer with every, say, hundred more people who join the fan group.) The Facebook fan page is here.

    For Twitter, which the entire world seems to claim as More Popular, the number is 500, which is much further away. (Ditto with the story length getting potentially longer with every hundred people past 500.) Follow me on Twitter here.

    And while I’m shilling, I may as well mention that the Old Races short story, “Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight”, is more than halfway to the commission goal–another $316 will get the people who pledged to support it their very own Janx & Daisani story which won’t be seen elsewhere for a minimum of three months and possibly for years. You know you want to!

    Now I’m going into Dublin AGAIN to try to find shoes that will fit my stupid wide thick feet. I may not make it to the war room at all today, but hopefully I’ll show up not quite a couple hours late…
