indulge me.

I should be writing, but I’m going to indulge myself with a brief blog post, first. At least, I hope it’ll be brief. I have a variety of cool things in my office, but probably the crowning glory is the shelf of books I’ve written. I get great satisfaction from just sitting here looking at them all in a tidy row. Only (only) 3700 today. The book’s at around 65K, plus another 1400 I wrote the other day and haven’t worked in yet. Might hit 70K tomorrow. Probably will, actually, since I should be able to work this bit in tomorrow, and think I can manage an additional 3K. Have managed as many words so far this week as I wrote last week in total (a little over 19K), which once upon a time I would’ve considered a reasonably successful week and which I am now agog over. oh my god. my brain.

5150 words today. Two chapters finished. Oh my god. My brain. It is empty. *goes to lie around and blow spit bubbles* ytd wordcount: 138,400

4500 words today. I would dearly love it if I continued at this pace all week, but even if I don’t I’m very pleased with the last couple of days. And I made myself cry with a scene today, so I hope it has the same effect on other people. :) I have done pilates and gone for a short walk today. tipping point x2

A couple chapters turned out shorter this week, so I ended up with 7 instead of the anticipated 6 or the acceptable 5. And this morning I had the “Gee, I think there’s too much story to fit in the room I’ve got left for the book” moment, which is usually a good sign. I have inched past 200 pages, and am about a thousand words from 50K. Nearly halfway done. Nearly 19K written this week. It is time for a Weekend. And for the weekend we’re going in to…
