SHAMAN RISES!

Know what today is? Today is the day SHAMAN RISES, last book of the Walker Papers, hits the shelves! Go forth! Buy! Enjoy! Weep! Um. Well. Um. O.O Seriously, I’m all big-eyed about this, because it’s the end of an era. I wrote URBAN SHAMAN in the year 2000, although it took me a while to do anything about it, but it means I’ve been working on this series for well over a decade, and to have the last book coming out…wow. I hope you all like it. :)

five things make a post

I had things to post about when I opened this window, I swear. Now I’ve forgotten them all. Well, anyway. Let’s see. There was an early showing of the second How To Train Your Dragon movie yesterday, and the first half of it was good. Highly, highly recommended. Working my way through Veronica Mars. I’m…

dear chance fans…

…if you had a choice between a whole Chance-world origin story or an introduction to a new modern character in the Chance world, which would you prefer? I actually have an artist lined up (possibly even two) so I’m trying to get ducks in a row for doing some kind of mini-stories for web release and maybe eventual Comixology release. Recent Reads: The Tamir Triad

I very nearly did not finish even the first book (THE BONE DOLL’S TWIN) of this trilogy, nevermind the whole thing, but damn, I’m glad I did. I’d had it recommended to me a while back when I was thinking about the structure of a YA series I want to write someday. As it happens, it doesn’t do the thing I was thinking about, which is neither here nor there, but holy wow is it well written. I mean, really, really well written, to the point that despite the fact…

Recent Reads: Redshirts

I’m way behind the curve on reading REDSHIRTS, but it is, as generally advertised, a fun book. It gets a little too caught up in its own cleverness, but mostly it works. I also presume it’s generally more fun to read if you’re a Star Trek fan, but since I am one, I can’t tell if it lacks if you’re not. Aside from the presumption of more fun/sense if you’re a Star Trek fan, it has too many characters with similar names, which makes it hard to keep track if…
