garlic!

I think I garlicked most of the rest of my cold out of my system. My ears are still a little poppy, but mostly I’m breathing easily again and I’m not coughing. Yay!

a new goal :)

I have a new goal in life. I want to be as sexy at 70 as Ian McKellan is. (Marith said, “Goodness. You do aim high.”) I will have to start working towards sexiness tomorrow, because today I have eaten more fudge than God could shake a stick at. :) (Actually, hopefully tomorrow this damned cough will be gone and I’ll be able to gym in some fashion or other. *snivel*)

Thinks to do this week: 1. apply for stupid student loans 2. apply for Irish passport 3. fill out Nathan & Cecilia’s paperwork 4. fill out 401k paperwork 5. christmas shop 6. go to the bloody postoffice and send gifts 7. eat too much fudge 8. figure out who to ask for letters of recommendation for grad school applications 9. make a christmas wishlist

repainting!

Ooh, the people next door are repainting. I just opened the blinds and can see into the house across from ours’ sliding doors, and the room is all empty except a ladder and a guy with a paint roller. My dog just abandoned her peanutbutter ball in hopes of getting a slice of orange from me. What a weird dog. 13 days. 13 days, and the light will start to come back.

an excellent day

An excellent day today, despite, or perhaps because of, not getting up until 10. I read two books which I hadn’t read since the 80s and to my delight, they were as good as they were back then. (The books in question are The Unicorn Quest and The Unicorn Dilemma, which are part of the Unicorn Saga, by John Lee; I found the 5th book in the series, which I hadn’t known existed, at Title Wave about a year or 18 months ago, gawped, said, “I don’t have this book!”…
