The books I’m working on, or at least referring to in my blog these days, by initials: TB is THUNDERBIRD FALLS, the sequel to URBAN SHAMAN. (Let us not focus on the fact that in fact the initials of this should be ‘TF’; apparently ‘thunderbird’ is the important word in my mind.) This series as a whole is The Walker Papers, which probably won’t ever be referred to as TWP, but they /could/ be. Theoretically. TQB is THE QUEEN’S BASTARD. Epic fantasy. Being written on spec for a proto-editor at…
wow, go *me*!
Okay, what Sarah gave me yesterday as an idea was *exactly, *exactly* what I needed. It’s something the reader can figure out, it’s something that Jo has an IC reason for happening that doesn’t necessarily associate with the *real* reason it’s happening, it can be used in flashes and gradually get worse, it’s *perfect*. It’s *exactly* what I needed. It’s *exactly* the kind of thing I’ve been trying to figure out for the whole book. It’s *perfect*. And now I’m burning through the wordcount, because I’m no longer hitched up…
good grief
Didn’t go to the SinC meeting, but I did write a lot more. Another 1770 words or so, for a total of 3400 today, and I finished the 2nd chapter of TQB, which came in at 6400 words. 29 pages. I’ve written 2 chapters and it’s already 63 pages long! Ye gods. Best of all, though, I know what I’m doing with chapter 3! Ok, that was a *lot* of writing today. I think it’d bedtime now. ytd wordcount: 16,000
hah!
Hah! V. Good! Sarah’s idea got me through the stuck part in spades and will make for some really cool stuff later in the book. 1642 words on TB today! Yay! ytd wordcount: 14,250
tired.
Tired. Only got 700 words written this morning, ’cause I got kind of stuck, but I talked to Sarah about the stuckness and she had a REALLY GOOD IDEA which will get me through it, so I’ll try to sit down and write my other 400 words at lunch. Yay! I have the coolest job in the world. :) Not the day job, that just pays the bills, but the writing job. I mean, wow. I get to sit down and write stories, if not for a living yet, at…
