The crash I was waiting for yesterday arrived today. I was SO TIRED. And so now I give up. I need to write 5500 words a day to (theoretically) complete this novel the day before I leave for ComicCon. Yesterday I ended up with a bonus 900 words, reducing today’s necessary count to 4600, but I’ve only managed 4100, and I’m going to leave it at that. Normal people consider 4100 words a stellar day. I, in fact, consider it to be pretty decent, overlooking the part where it’s not…

look what happens…

Look what happens when I get up early: I write 6400 words. Ted and I keep getting up later and later and I get visibly less accomplished the later I get up, so last night he set the alarm for 6am. Oh my God. *bursts out laughing*

*laughs* Oh my God. I just found what must have been *very* close to the original first character sketch/getting the feeling thing for the Walker Papers. It’s about 800 words long, and it’s *awful*. oh my *God* it’s bad. *howls with laughter* Yeah, oh my God, created April 17, 2000, at 6:01pm. Oh my God. It’s awful. *laughs more* Here, here, let me share my humiliation with you:

spamming lj today

I rewrote two half-chapters and think I’ve gotten the book back on track. The next few chapters will be all-new, with lots of action and a character who hasn’t been seen in a while (nevermind that nobody from the Walker Papers has been seen in a while, since it’s TWO YEARS since I’ve written one!), and … well, we’ll see where it goes tomorrow, I guess. I’ve only lost a couple thousand words at this point, which is nice. ytd wordcount: 260,600
