I have, with no particular intent to do so, walked in the region of 65 miles since the beginning of the month. I am a little sore from all this walking, and would like a hot bath and a massage. *looks hopefully at the world* I’ve been idly searching for the blank book in which I wrote half a dozen children’s book manuscripts. It wasn’t anywhere I thought it should be, but fortunately, in rescuing toy train parts a couple of days ago, I glanced into a box and there…

farmer’s market!
We went shopping this morning to find some light bulbs, and on the way discovered a new farmer’s market! They’ve green grocers and a butcher and a breadmaker and a cheesemonger and a chocolatiere and people selling Italian sauces and Indian sauces and jams and wine and olives and fresh local milk! And other things too. :) We bought rather a lot of stuff! And then found our lightbulbs (not at the farmer’s market), so it was quite a successful morning, I’d say. Now off to shop for stuff for…
caution, wind, zoo
I threw caution to the wind yesterday and went to the zoo instead of doing, oh, you know. All the household chores. (This resulted in ordering dinner in last night, but hey.) It was a nice day, which mostly means there was neither wind nor rain, and those two things made going worth it. Again!” Watching the gorillas: Ruuunnnniiiiiiinnnnng!
P-Con IX Report!
Somewhere along the line Ted and I developed enough opinions about P-Con that this year we ended up on the committee to help run it. In fact, apparently I ended up the Co-Chair on the committee, which I discovered on Saturday morning when Pádraig introduced me as such. :) This year’s P-Con was the first run in association with the Irish Writers’ Centre, where the con was held. We had NO IDEA how that was going to be recieved, because normally cons are held at hotels and normally there’s a…
so. tired.
I went out for tapas with YA author Sarah Rees Brennan last night, which was enormously fun. Hanging out with Sarah usually is. She tells stories exactly the same way she writes in her blog, and it’s very very funny, even when she’s talking about awful things. Or possibly especially when she’s talking about awful things. :) Anyway, we ordered one of everything on the menu (not really, but only because after we’d ordered six items the waiter said, “That’s enough, ladies. That’s a lot of food,” to which we…
