    Kit’s Very Busy Day

I got up at 7:something, and by 8:20 I’d showered, cleaned the kitchen, fed the cats, and made a grocery list. By half eleven I’d made pancakes, gone shopping, and gotten started on the hellish site redesign that’s going to take days if not weeks of time.

In between beating my head on the redesign wall, I entertained myself by making icons from ‘s Star Trek parody. There are SO MANY MORE I want to do, but this will do for a start. All text (excepting “adorkable”) thanks to Sarah Rees Brennan, icon bases nabbed from users , , and .

Take A Chance interviews & icons

Because three blog posts in one day are not enough, I bring you two Take A Chance-related interviews, at Comicon.com and Book Spot Central. Trent says to read the BSC one first, I think, because some of what’s said in it is then tidily summarized in the Comicon one.

I was going to post a bunch of issue 3 Chance icons, because it’s supposed to be out tomorrow, but I don’t have hardly any made and I’m too damned tired to do more right now. So I’ll just post these few right now and I’ll do more later.

    Teaser icons: Chance #2

Chance #2 hits the shelves in about 10 days. Behind the cut are teaser icons for the upcoming issue!

(eta: oh! in response to a comment: yes, of course these are for general use and snurching and all. Credit to as the maker is great, and if you’d like to mention they’re from the comic book “Take A Chance” that’s great too. Enjoy!)

    been a long week, somehow

I don’t know why, but it’s been a long week. But the proposal for the fifth Walker Papers is turned in, and I’ve given up on NNWM. I’m going to write the Morrigan short story next week, and if I get done with that before the end of the week I’ll go back to NNWM and do as much as I can, but copy edits for PRETENDER’S CROWN are due in, and Dublin City Comic Con is next weekend, assuming I get paid. Well, it’s next weekend even if I don’t get paid, but we won’t be going if I don’t. :) Anyway, so maybe I’ll see about doing as big a chunk of TRUTHSEEKER in December as possible. Because that always works, what with the holidays and all. :)

I think I actually *am* going to take the weekend off. Read a couple books, maybe make some icons. But not work. My brain is tired.

Random icon question: I want to do a set of mood icons. I’ve seen them in various sizes, ranging from V. Tiny (which I won’t be doing) to almost-100×100 size. Do people have any kind of actual preference for mood icon sizes?

If I had a desktop computer I would have such a good time making icons. I just came across a handful of Methos icons, which reminded me that I’d like to do a set of those sometime. There’s a whole pile of movies we’ve got that I’d like to do icons from. Hellboy. Maybe Dangerous Beauty. Highlander. Riddick. Chicago. Maybe Labyrinth. I could do a whole series of Pulp Film icons–The Shadow, The Phantom, The Rocketeer, even Sky Captain. And despite the fact that there are already a hundred thousand million trillion Doctor Who icons out there, I still want to make some of those, too. And I have all of this great Chance artwork that I want to make both icons and mood icons from.

You know. In my copious free time. But I *love* making icons, even if I’m not nearly the artist a lot of people are, and although it is a computer-based activity, which is not really what I’d like for a hobby, it’s still nifty and I’d like to do it.

Oh well. Someday I’ll have a desktop again.

We’re out of milk and probably other important things I can’t think of right now, but it’s pissing down rain and I’m supposed to be working, neither of which inclines me to go get milk.
